Welcome to the Savong Foundation

The Savong Foundation works to provide Cambodian students with the opportunity to complete a high school education and continue towards earning an undergraduate degree with the ultimate goal of becoming professionals in their communities.

We work closely with Future Bright International School to place our students in an appropriate grade level, as well as coordinate with universities for our more advanced students. We proactively recruit deserving female students who would otherwise be denied an education opportunity.

We also provide food and lodging for extremely impoverished students or for those who do not have family living in the Siem Reap area.

Who is Savong?

Savong’s dream of bringing free English language instruction to rural Cambodia started to take shape in 2004 when he met two visitors from Japan, Yoshikazu Tsuji and Makoto Kimura, and a visitor from New Zealand, Duncan Stuart. Together they formed the initial support that led to the construction of the Savong School in 2005.

Savong saw the enormous need to help the children in the community whose families were dealing with the issues associated with extreme poverty. Over the next few years, Savong continued with his ambitious projects...
